Academic Paper Outlines

Academic Paper OutlinesWriting an academic paper requires many hours of research and preparation. The preparation process is more a matter of writing a paper on your own, than doing it as a group or a company. This requires a good plan that takes the time to get the necessary facts, the right presentation of the information, and to spell check.A good plan always starts with a well-rounded outline. An outline includes topics, projects, and figures, with proper sequence. A good outline should show how a writer plans out the different sections of the paper, giving examples and differentiating between them.An outline is not always required, but it is a helpful tool when writing an academic paper. Research or general research will take place first. Use the outline to put ideas down. Then the writing itself will follow as the researcher goes further into his/her topic, filling in the blanks, adding sources, and analyzing the material. In the outline, make sure to separate each of the differ ent sections according to the kind of project that is involved. This will give a rough idea on the order of presentation for each section. Next comes the project description section, where the writer details his/her project in terms of frequency of writing, direction, outline, time frame and funding. There should be a 'notes' section of some kind at the end of the project section. If this is not done, the writer will want to make notes of the notes he/she has taken during the project, and write down what should be done in order to improve the material. This is important for making sure that the writing stays on track and that all the research is accounted for.Once the outline is complete, it should be distributed and read for approval. This makes sure that no items are missed or any factual information omitted.Generally, there should be a standard length of about one hundred pages for each of the different project sections. However, it is always wise to allow some leeway for several project sections, especially the research. The researcher can vary the length for each section by allowing a little more time in the writing to complete the research.Academic paper outlines are essential to keep all the facts organized, and the project in order. They help the writer become organized, see things in order, and to be able to present the paper with all the correct references, citations, and writing style.
